Korea Mourns Victims of Jeju Air Crash with Seven-Day National Mourning

Korea has announced a seven-day national mourning period following the tragic crash of a Jeju Airplane at Muan International Airport in Jeonnam Province. The mourning period will last from today until midnight on January 4th.

During this time, joint memorial altars will be set up at the crash site in Muan and in 17 cities and provinces, including Jeonnam, Gwangju, Seoul, and Sejong. All government ministries, local governments, and public institutions will fly their flags at half-mast, and public officials will wear mourning ribbons.

Authorities confirmed that 179 people lost their lives in the crash, with only two survivors—both crew members. Our deepest condolences go out to the families of the victims.
